Biography
Miguel Perez Subias, telecommunications Engineer who graduated from Madrid Polytechnic University and gained a MBA in Business Management from the INESE. He is currently the President of the Internet Users Association and works as a consultant specialising in Information Technologies.
In 1994, he edited and promoted the first Internet journal published in Spain and subsequently played an active role in creating the Internet Users Association (aui.es) of which he has been President since it was founded in 1996.
Now he works on TYPES-project (Towards Transparency and Privacy in the Online Advertising Business) plans to demonstrate solutions that protect individuals’ privacy while empowering the users to control how their data is used by service providers for advertising purposes. At the same time, TYPES will make it easier to verify whether users’ online rights are respected and if personal data is exchanged for a reasonable value-added to users. http://www.types-project.eu/
TYPES project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation. He has collaborated with authorities (central, regional and local) to formulate and implement regulations and strategic plans for the creation of the Information Society.
