Biography

Sachin Lodha is part of TCS’s Corporate Technology Office. He has led and shaped TCS’s Data Privacy R&D Program right from its inception in early 2005, with the mission of creating differentiated software, solutions & methodology in Data Privacy space. His ‘use-inspired basic research approach’ meant close dialogue with TCS business units and customers to understand their pains and aspirations, anticipate future business and technology trends, and accordingly abstract, generalize and formulate research problems and development goals. This program has borne many good fruits – 30+ research papers, 25+ unique patent applications, and importantly award winning innovations like Data Masker, Volume Data Generator, and Dynamic Data Masker that are making difference to TCS business and its customers.

Sachin Lodha graduated with a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 1996 and received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University, USA, in 2002. Currently he is a member of TCS’s Corporate Technology Council, and also an ACM India Eminent Speaker. Dr Lodha was also the Principal Investigator for TCS-Stanford research collaboration on Data Privacy that ran successfully for 5 years (2006-2010). He was awarded the TCS Distinguished Scientist Award in 2011 for his sustained and high-impact contributions to research and business.
