Open Sauna celebration as part of the MyData 2016 evening programme will take place on Thursday 1st of September!
There are five million inhabitants and over three million saunas in Finland – an average of one per household. For Finnish people the sauna is a place to relax with friends and family, but also typical part of other kinds of social gatherings including business and work related events.
Sauna options will be added here – sign-up to one: mydata2016.helsinkisaunaday.fi
“Invitation to sauna in a business setting may indicate that the negotiations have gone well and a joint business effort is anticipated.” (Wikipedia / Finnish Sauna)
MyData 2016 organizers and partners want to offer all participants possibility to experience this essential part of Finnish culture. Most of the Finnish companies and other organizations have sauna facilities in the office buildings. We have invited the organizations to open the sauna doors for MyData 2016 participants. There will be several different sauna options available around the city. We will arrange a meet-up at the festival venue, so that people going for the same sauna can travel together.
In all the sauna places, there are separate saunas (or sauna times) for men & women, but there is a place for everyone to hang out & socialize together during the whole evening.
If you can offer a sauna option for the guests or have anything else to ask about sauna dat, contact our sauna dwarf jukka-pekka.jankala [a] helsinki.fi
