This collaborative session will build upon the two previous meetings of the European “PIMS” community (Brussels, Nov. 2015 – Paris, Apr. 2016) and intend to further our collective work.

In the Helsinki meeting we will focus on two projects:

The “Use Case Repository”

The April Paris meeting ended with a call for all PIMS actors and stakeholders to contribute to an open Repository of actual and planned PIMS/VRM/Self Data use cases. This database contains close to 50 entries, which is nice but remains below our common goal (100). Fing will report on initial insights from the current database, and we will collectively identify:

  • How the repository could provide most value for all participants
  • What new entries should absolutely be added to the database (see the form)

The PIMS White Book
At the Paris meeting it was also agreed that a personal data white book will be published by the end of 2016, that will be a concise resource on the fundamentals of personal data use. It will above all set a common vocabulary for the community and direct/indirect stakeholders, for the domain to gain momentum. Tanel Mällo will disclose the white book process and deliverables up to now, and we’ll gather insights about what form would the community benefit most from the document.
