Jean-Baptiste, aka ‘Jb’, started as a systems software hacker, following up with software engineering, modems engineering and product management, before joining Palm Computing to explore product marketing and user centric design.
Palm’s vision and user experience has been a revelating and inspiring experience. He has consequently been able to anticipate emerging mobile usage in participating to the creation of Omnisky, the first mobile online service provider. He has then been appointed to several management positions in tech blue chips such as O2 and Philips before joining Mozilla, his second cultural revelation. Transparency, openness, trust and empowerment are values that have further reinforced his belief in an open Internet and led him to join Qwant to develop alternative funding mechanisms for the Web, as well as other operational activities.
