Biography

Teppo Valtonen has more than 10 years of experience in researching and developing tools, practices and processes for working with knowledge. He is interested in the feasible and ethical use of data from employees, the tools they use, and their work environment – both physical and virtual – and has organized the Quantified Employee 2014 conference.

His core expertise is understanding both technology and human behaviour, cognition and physiology. He has been doing and managing projects, products and services especially to help understand the cognitive demands of work and to improve efficiency and work flow.

He is an active lecturer on topics such as cognitive ergonomics, digitalization, automation and the quantification of work. At the end of the day, he aims for designing work that supports learning, decision-making, creativity, well-being and sustainable productivity.
